SELF ASSESSMENT:
Where do you fit in The Frog Chain?

! AMPHIBIAN SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING !
Do not rush to categorize contacts by the frog chain. Treat everyone like royalty. One person's frog may be another's prince. The chain is best used for self-assessment.

Who Populates the Pond?

The Royals (Amphibius rex)
These are the Princes and Princesses of Networking, rarely found in the wild, or anywhere else for that matter. Even the best networkers have a hard time naming more than seven royals. We will know one if we spot one.

The Tree Frogs (Amphibius borealis)
These are unusually good networkers. By reputation they stand tall in the amphibian world and see beyond the bounds of the kingdom. Although they are on the road to royalty, only a few will make it. What they know and whom they know sets them apart from the chorus.

The Chorus Frogs (Pseudacris musicalis)
These frogs have decided to take the plunge and join the chorus. They actually practice the art of “ribbiting” (engaging contacts) expecting to get results. They will achieve varying degrees of success. Some will become good networkers— Tree Frogs. Chorus frogs have decided to get their feet wet.

Just Frogs (Amphibius normalis)
We are all born frogs. A surprisingly high number will decide not to come out of the weeds and participate in the networking dance, at least for the time being. They prefer to stay— sorry guys— just frogs.

The Toads (Bufo obnoxios)
A few frogs will decide to move down the frog chain. They are not hard to spot. While mercifully scarce, we are sure to run into them. When this happens, get over it and simply move on.
